Our website address is: fosspost.org. We make the FOSS Post team which includes people from all over the world. FOSS Post is not a registered company, organization or entity in any country.
What do we collect and why
When you visit fosspost.org, we receive your IP address, browser user-agent and some other cookies your browser may provide us with. Some of this data is stored at our backend servers and some of them are stored remotly at 3rd-party services or the hosting company and CDN we use.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
When you send us an email using one of your contact forms, we receive your name, email and message along with your IP address. Any personally-identifiable information that you submit to us is never shared with anyone.

As the base for being able to send you email newsletters, we collect the email address that you gives us when you subscribe in our newsletter. Your email is never shared with any 3rd-party or entity unless required so by the law.

We have implemented the search engine in our website in such a way that it does NOT record your IP address. We do know that some users might be searching for some queries on our website, but we do not know their IP addresses or anything about them. Instead, we just receive the query.
Who we share your data with
Some of your information are shared with 3rd-party services such as Google Adsense, Google Analytics, WordPress.com and some other plugin developers or service providers we use. Those services use this data to display certain ads for you or track where you are coming from or enhance your experience on our website.
Unless required so by the law, we’ll never share any of your personal information such as IP address, email address or browser agent with any other party unless stated in this page.
How long we retain your data
All logs, emails, comments forms or any other data collected about you when you visit our websites are stored indefinitely.
